Running Windows Application in Linux

Today, I was trying the Portable Counter-Strike.exe file in Linux-Ubunut environment, however its not working since its a program from windows.

To solve this problem I decided to use wine as a solution. Wine is a open source application which allow you to run windows program in Linux.

1. Download the Wine application by going to the terminal and run “apt-get install wine.

2. Select “yes” for the installation to begin.

3. Go to your “Application” menu and check the existence of Wine. If its there then it means you have successfully install the Wine.

4. Now go the windows program which you like to run in Ubuntu. Right click on it and choose:

Open With “Wine Windows Program Loader

Now with Wine, you can access your favourite program in your Linux environment.
