Restarting – Linux

There are few restart commands available in a Linux environment. I will be showing you two command which can be used for this purpose.

shutdown now -r
– This “shutdown” command is in linux environment to shutdown a machine.
– “Now” in the above command represent the time when this command should execute.
– (-r )indicates a restart should take place after the shutdown.

Another example command which can be used is “init 6“. Once this is executed, this will request your
PC to restart immediately.

The above command requires root access privilege. Only then you will be able to run this command successfully.
